Project Description:
Schnabel Foundation Company was contracted to design and construct over 11,000 sf of secant pile shoring for the repair and upgrade of an existing and active service water treatment plant. This secant pile shoring system was designed to limit deformation and protect the existing critical treatment plant facilities during the construction of the new facilities. The system was comprised of 179 interlocking 36-inch diameter drilled shafts that were tied back with continuous walers and two rows of tiebacks. Overall, 158 tiebacks were installed which ranged up to 50 feet in length. The design supported excavation heights up to 25 ft.
