Project Description:
As if the lakeside housing found bordering scenic Lake Tahoe weren’t enough. A new owner decided to do the unprecedented and knock down an existing cabin in order to replace it with a five-story mansion built into the side of the mountain, complete with a full glass lakeside face, cantilever flooring, and a glass staircase (and elevator). Schnabel Foundation Company worked with the Structural Engineer of the house in order to build a temporary and permanent shoring system to accommodate a steel moment resisting frame.
