The renovation of the historic American Trucking Association building required excavation beneath existing structures to construct a new basement while preserving structural integrity.

Schnabel’s Solution

Schnabel designed and built a micropile support system to extend the foundations of existing structures, allowing safe excavation and basement construction under the building.

Results

The micropile system successfully supported the structure, enabling the basement construction and renovation without compromising the historic building.
