Bozzuto, the general contractor, contracted with Schnabel to handle the deep foundation work for the project. Schnabel’s team installed more than 150 Continuous Flight Auger (CFA) soldier piles, which are a type of deep foundation used to support large structures. To improve efficiency, Schnabel used a method called “open hole drilling” for the CFA soldier piles. This technique helped improve productivity and reduce delays. The work was done using Schnabel’s BG 28 drill rig.
