Background

The City of Cedar Rapids required improvements to the J Avenue Water Treatment Plant to protect existing infrastructure and maintain reliable water service.

Schnabel’s Solution

Schnabel was contracted to install a water cutoff wall near a two-story concrete holding tank. Schnabel installed 67 jet grout columns, creating a wall that effectively retained soil and groundwater.

Results

Provided a safe, watertight foundation that safeguarded existing structures and ensured project success.
