Background

During the record-cold winter of 2013–14, Schnabel was contracted to support the construction of the new Vikings Stadium. Despite extreme weather, work was completed ahead of schedule.

Schnabel’s Solution

Schnabel designed and built permanent earth retention systems with soldier piles, lagging, and tiebacks to support excavations up to 40 feet deep. The team also installed drilled piers for a tower crane and permanent rock anchor tiedowns. Challenging glacial soils with cobbles and boulders required specialized equipment and tooling.

Results

Despite numerous operational and equipment challenges, Schnabel delivered the work safely and ahead of schedule, helping keep the stadium project on track
