When facing the need for a permanent wall in a cut or partial cut-and-fill scenario, practical and cost-effective solutions include permanent tieback, soil nail, and cantilevered pile retaining walls. This becomes especially crucial when preserving the integrity of a road, structure, slope, or other feature behind the wall is paramount.

Concrete retaining wall contractors specializing in such projects, like Schnabel, design permanent walls with a lifespan ranging from 50 to 100 years. Rigorous evaluations of the wall environment, encompassing soil and groundwater considerations, are conducted to assess the potential for corrosion. Schnabel’s expertise in wall construction ensures meticulous attention to details like tiebacks, soil nails, and facing connections, guaranteeing the longevity of the entire structure.

To enhance durability, the facing of the wall is typically constructed using reinforced cast-in-place concrete, shotcrete, or precast concrete panels. Concrete retaining wall contractors, such as Schnabel, prioritize not only structural integrity but also aesthetic considerations, offering a variety of treatments to improve the appearance of the facing and seamlessly integrate it with the surrounding environment.
