The Fremont Hall Landslide Stabilization project at Cal Poly – San Luis Obispo recently won two major awards! First, the project won the American Public Works Association (APWA) Public Works Project of the Year Award in the Disaster or Emergency >$15m category. Second, it was recognized as the 2022-2023 $15mil Public Outstanding Project Award winner at the 2023 California Geotechnical Engineering Association Conference (CalGeo). Schnabel is grateful to have had the opportunity to work alongside such great partners in Yeh and Associates, Inc and Cannon on this challenging project.

In this project, Schnabel designed the earth retention system and served as the general contractor. The project helped to stabilize the landslide behind the Cal Poly Fremont Hall dorms and allowed it to open up to students again after its three-year shutdown. Schnabel is grateful to have the opportunity to work alongside such great partners in Yeh and Associates, Inc and Cannon Corp on this challenging project.
